My Goals for 2018

So the first week of 2018 is over, and like a lot of people I’ve come up with a list of goals that I want to achieve this year. Normally when I set myself goals or ‘new year’s resolutions’ I stick to just the 1 or maybe 2, but this year I’ve gone for a whooping 12 and I’m determined to fulfil them all.

1. GET FIT

So this is a bit of a cliché goal but I do really want to get a lot fitter this year. Over the past few years I’ve stopped being a member of a gym and just become very lazy and unfit. This year I want to get a lot fitter in order to feel a lot happier with myself and more comfortable in my own skin.

2. QUIT SMOKING

This goal will definitely help with my first goal, and is something I’ve wanted to do/tried to do for a couple of years now. I started smoking when I was around 15ish and never intended for it to be a long term thing (like everyone) but this year is going to be the year that I stop for good.

3. EAT BETTER

As well as getting fit this year I also want to kick the many bad eating habits. I’ve started eating quite badly recently such as eating loads of crisps, takeaway, chocolate etc. This year I want to eat a lot more healthier meals and  just be more aware of what I’m putting in my body.

4. LEARN TO DRIVE

I don’t want to leave it to late to learn to drive, therefore I feel that as I’m turning 21 this year it’ll be a good time to learn to drive.

5. SCHEDULE AT LEAST TWO BLOG POSTS A MONTH

Now that I’ve gotten back into blogging I really want to try and stick with it. I don’t want to set myself unrealistic goals by saying I’ll schedule a post every week, because I know that currently I won’t be able to do that. But, I feel that two blog posts a month is a good starting point and something that I can achieve.

6. REACH 5K FOLLOWERS ON INSTAGRAM

This year I’d really like to focus on my Instagram account for my blog. I currently have 1.6K followers so I need to put a lot of work in to reach 5K, but I feel if I put my mind to it, I can do it.

7. VISIT POLAND

Poland is somewhere that I’ve really wanted to visit for years, there is so much there that interests me so I definitely want to make sure I visit this year.

8. IMPROVE WITHIN MY JOB

Like most people I always want to improve on myself professionally, so this year I’ve made it one of my goals to improve my digital marketing knowledge and hopefully gain a promotion/pay rise.

9.BECOME MORE ORGANISED AT WORK & HOME

I’ve never really been super unorganised but this year I would like to organise my time at work and home a bit better, therefore I definitely need to invest in a 2018 diary.

10. READ MORE

I really enjoy reading it’s one of my favourite hobbies but I have a bad habit of reading loads and then not reading for months. This year I’ve set myself a realistic 2018 goodreads goal to read 12 books within the year.

11. SAVE MONEY

Saving money is really important and is something that I’ve really struggled to do lately. This year I really want to make sure I save a little bit of money every month and see what I end up with at the end of the year.

12. MOVE TO HOVE

So this goal is definitely going to be achieved within a couple of weeks as me and Mark have found a flat in Hove to move into! Hove is somewhere I have always wanted to live but just haven’t been able to afford the rent, but now I’m in a financial position to live in Hove I literally cannot wait!

2018 is already shaping up to be very exciting for me, and it feels really good going into a new year with a lot of positivity. Let me know in the comments below if you have any goals for 2018 and if so, how many goals you’ve set yourself.

  3. These goals are great, you can do them! I’ve got a few, some are to keep up the blogging momentum and build following as well as keeping fit but signing up to loads of races to motivate me xx

  4. I believe in you, you can achieve these! In terms of Instagram followers etc, you should try some visualisation, read the book ‘the secret’ xxx
