Film Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

On Saturday me and Mark were supposed to go out clubbing and see Shy FX, however as a result of Mark feeling really ill he really didn’t want to go out drinking. After hours of stress trying to sell our tickets for Shy FX, me, Mark and my brother Jack deicide to go to the cinema to see the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film.

In 2014 (I can’t believe it was two years ago?!) me and my brother went to see the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films, this was because we both loved the cartoon when we were growing up. I thought the first film was really good and quite humorous, so when I found out they were bring out the second one this month I was sure to see it.

I wont give any spoilers away in this post, so don’t worry if you haven’t seen it.

The ninja turtles film movie

Unfortunately, I personally felt the second film wasn’t as great as the first one. I felt this way as the storyline wasn’t as gripping as the first one and I didn’t find it half as funny. However, saying this I did really enjoy it.

As always Megan Fox looked amazing and I felt she played her role in the film pretty well. The thing I liked most about the film is it’s like a typical superhero film but it’s got that different edge to it, with the ‘heroes’ being like teenage boys when they’re in fact turtles, as well as being ninjas with a giant rat as a ‘father’. I do like how bizarre the film is and most of all I love how they have an unhealthy obsession with pizza – a bit like myself!

The other thing I felt was quite cool was the very diverse villains within the film. I feel the approach the creators of the movie had was very original  which I particularly liked. Overall I thought the film was good but I wouldn’t rush to watch it again when it comes out on DVD and BluRay.

If anyone else has seen it, don’t hesitate to let me know what you thought by leaving me a comment.
